Nutrition

Nutritional requirements for each individual pet depend on a variety of factors, such as:

  • Life stage (e.g. puppy, nursing, senior)

  • Body condition (e.g. overweight, maintenance)

  • Chronic illnesses (e.g. kidney disease, urinary stones, cancer, heart disease)

  • Acute illnesses (e.g. pancreatitis, gastrointestinal disease)

  • Lifestyle (e.g. indoor, outdoor, hunting)

During the initial consultation, we can review your pet's current diet and discuss potential improvements, such as high-quality pet foods, over-the-counter and prescription diets for specific needs, and nutritional supplements. Alternatively, we can schedule a dedicated house call or telehealth appointment to focus on nutrition.
